The single greatest tool you can do each day to love yourself deeper!

This is what an average morning looks like at the Hacienda de Holden.
Make Time For You
“5-4-3-2-1" ~ Mel Robbins
I HATE waking up to an alarm. Seriously, it's the worst...anyone else? 🙋🏼♀️
I mean, I don't know anyone who enjoys being pulled awake from a deep sleep by the annoyingly piercing sound of a buzzer. Oh sure, you can wake up to music, or a soothing melody with birds serenading you…but really...does that make it any easier to rip away the warm blankets and jump out of bed? If so…than more power to ya...and send sprinkle some of that goodness my way!
But, even though I despise waking up to an alarm…I do it most mornings. And the thing is, it's not like a HAVE to be awake at 5:00 am. Noone is requring me to do this. I mean, I work from home, set my own schedule, and don't have a commute or kiddos...yet, I still wake up at before the sun.
Am I crazy? Maybe. (aren't we all a little mad)
But honestly, I'll tell the you the real reason I keep this promise to myself. I CRAVE the early morning to myself. I need to be up before my hubby. I love the rhythm of making a pot of coffee, the hypnotic sounds, the nastalgic smells...it's heaven to me first thing. Knowing I get to enjoy a hot cup of coffee all to myself, just calms me down and helps ease me out of bed.
More than coffee though, I need these few precious hours when I can be ME first. A moment to enjoy the quiet, without having to think about anyone else.
Do you think this is selfish?
I guess you could see it that way.
But for me, waking up early is caring for my soul. And don't get me wrong, some days do require an additional snooze.
An awesome trick I learned a few years back is the 5 Second Rule from Mel Robbins. In case you're not familiar, you count backwards from 5 before you get out of bed. Alarm sounds, you turn it off, then start that countdown, "5-4-3-2..." and by the time you reach 1 you're feet are already on the floor and your up!!! It's pure magic. And this works for everything you're needing to take action on. I've even used it when tempted with a cigarette or some alcohol. I highly recommend you read this book...it's on my top 10 list to learn why this technique is so effective.

Be sure to read on for more, or you can listen to the Cuppa Chels Podcast episode 004 | How To Change Your Life One Miracle Morning at A Time
I did a challenge a challenge with my dear friend back in 2018 based on the book, Miracle Morning. We were getting ready to run a 5K and decided to dedicate these few weeks leading up to it to maintaining a morning routine.
You see, we each read The Miracle Morning and understood the benefits of incoorporating the life S.A.V.E.R.S. each day.
Silence
Affirmations
Visualization
Exercise
Reading
Scribing (Writing)
Each one of these is such a key piece to my day, but life happens and there are days when I don't get them all in. That's okay! I will usually do at least three of them. There's always a walk or some type of movement, journaling, and prayer/mediation. During my mediation I'm usually visualizing the future I'm co-creating for myself, or picturing how well of an outcome I want for a client meeting. Also, when I journal, I affirm myself.
I am healthy, well, & vibrant.
Today is a great day.
I am having Fun today!
I am beautiful, smart, talented, and prosperous.
Creative possibilities are available to me.
Get Inspired
Since waking up early and giving myself time every day to be present, I have lost 15 pounds and kept them off. I've been alcohol free for over a year, and am celebrating my 39th birthday healthier than I've ever been, and happier than I could ever imagine.
I'd love to hear your thoughts. Comment below with anything you do to rise and radiate!
